Emergency alerts can provide important information about severe weather, public safety incidents, and other urgent situations. However, some users may prefer to limit or disable certain alerts.
Introduction
iPhones can receive government-issued emergency notifications, including:
- Emergency Alerts
- Public Safety Alerts
- Severe Weather Warnings
- AMBER Alerts (missing children alerts in supported regions)
These alerts can appear even when your phone is locked and may play a loud notification sound. These are “On” by default.
How to Disable Emergency Alerts
Open Settings, scroll to Notifications, scroll to the bottom and toggle off Extreme Alerts & Severe Alerts
